United Methodist Women Purpose
The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the Church.
Rocky Mount United Methodist Women are a diverse group of ladies of all ages and interests. Our purpose is to minister to the needs of women, children and youth, locally and globally, whether it be through service and financial support in our community or supporting efforts to keep our planet safe for generations to come.
United Methodist Women at Rocky Mount have a long history of service, dating back more than 75 years. The unit at RM is comprised of four circles, each with different mission focuses. The Mary Jones and Nancy Parker circles meet the first Tuesday of each month during the day. The Lucy Christie and Florida Simms circles meet in the evening on the first and second Tuesday of each month, respectively.
Listed below are just a few of the organizations and efforts that RMUMW support:
Children’s Hope Alliance, Elder Orphan Care, My Sister’s House, FeedNC (fka Mooresville Soup Kitchen), Kairos Prison Ministry, Mooresville Pregnancy Center,
